 i started reading before bed every night and on a whim i started reading aloud to elsa and i found that it really calms her down before bed, i have to fight with her a lot less to go to sleep. then i realized i am reading bedtime stories to my cat. like she is a toddler. also i do different voices for the characters, i'm basically teaching myself acting.  the other day my niece was over and i was like "i got a book from the library about acting so i can do better voices when i read bedtime stories to my cat" and she was like "that's the most iconic thing you've said in like, years."

  read an f1 romance novel that was pretty good but was also very obviously (to me) reskinned mcu pietro maximoff x tony's daughter fanfic. i don't think your average person would pick up on it but unfortunately for the author my marvel brainrot is so deeply embedded that i can recognize this shit like one of those police dogs sniffing out cocaine.

re: iron dome discourse. im not even gonna bother with the "israelis are human beings and its bad when human beings die" argument cause i know thats in one ear and out the other to you demons, so instead i will simply point out the obvious: what part of the entire history of i/p has led you to believe that MORE dead israelis will make israel LESS violent towards palestine and palestinians? do you not remember what preceded this most recent slaughter in gaza? do you not have a memory, a reference point here. sorry but people are right when they say the left just fully memory holed 10/7 cause that is the ONLY way "defunding the iron dome will make israel come to the negotiating table" has even a single shred of logic to it. i havent watched the Uglies movie so maybe it IS bad (and i read the books in middle school so maybe they WERE bad and i just didn't realize it at the time) but the premise absolutely slaps and idk why people are pretending not to understand it. it's straightforward. this is not difficult commentary to discern. i understood it fine at 13 but full grown youtubers and other internet commentariat are acting as if it's gone over their heads somehow. like what i mean is, for example: people keep saying "but the uglies aren't even ugly!" and like, yes, you're correct. that is the point. the Ugly characters see themselves as hideous deformed monsters because of the society they live in but the audience isn't supposed to agree with them. you're SUPPOSED to see the discrepancy btwn how the characters see themselves vs how they objectively look. they put that there intentionally! but people keep pointing it out as if it's a like, a flaw in...
